Project Engineering Management and Consultancy (PEMAC) has been recognized by Energy Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top API-Certified Oilfield Equipment Manufacturer in APAC 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Oil and Gas Services in APAC,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Energy Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Amir Khalis bin Sumardi Sidi, Managing Director .
Amir Khalis bin Sumardi Sidi, Managing Director A piece of equipment is needed, a repair is urgent, or rig preparing for its next operation needs technical support at short notice. In each case, time becomes part of the requirement. This is where PEMAC has built its role. The company combines about 100 types of pressure-control equipment in inventory with manufacturing, repair and aftermarket services. Its experienced personnel give customers the speed and responsiveness needed to keep drilling operations moving.
That capability starts with what PEMAC has ready to work with. When a requirement cannot be met from inventory, its manufacturing and workshop capabilities provide another route, including equipment manufacturing and repair.
One of PEMAC’s key strengths is its broad inventory of stock materials, enabling the company to shorten manufacturing lead times and expedite customer deliveries.
That responsiveness becomes particularly valuable when turnaround times are measured in days. Whether a customer needs equipment within five days or a larger order within about a month, PEMAC aligns its manufacturing and repair capabilities to meet operational timelines. The company also provides technical support at the rig itself, with experienced personnel available whenever additional assistance is needed. This breadth of capability allows PEMAC to function as a one-stop API-certified workshop for oil and gas customers.
That capability is supported by PEMAC’s team with years of practical industry knowledge. Founder Sumardi Bin Sidi brings more than 40 years of experience in oil and gas, while many team members have spent years with the company. Employees attend training courses and industry exhibitions to strengthen their skills and stay informed about market developments. Experienced staff share their knowledge with newer employees. PEMAC also invests in new machines and equipment to upgrade its services and products.
Technical capability has to be matched by the standards expected in demanding oilfield environments. PEMAC maintains six (6) API MONOGRAM certifications—API 5B, 6A, 7-1, 7-2, 16A, and 16C—for the manufacture and servicing of pressure-control equipment, along with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications. While its quality control function checks manufactured products against applicable standards. Certification is maintained through regular audits, making compliance an ongoing discipline. For major oilfield customers, API certification is commercially important because it is required for many purchasing relationships. This emphasis on certification and capability underpins PEMAC’s recognition as the Top API-Certified Oilfield Equipment Manufacturer in APAC 2026.
Its practical value is clearest when customers are working against the clock. In one instance, a customer preparing to mobilize a rig needed a skilled technician at short notice. PEMAC deployed personnel to support equipment installation and certification requirements, helping the rig leave on schedule. In another case, a rig required critical equipment within days, prompting the company to increase overtime to accelerate delivery. With materials available in hand, PEMAC was able to expedite and meet their customer dateline. Together, these examples demonstrate how timely technical support and rapid equipment delivery help customers minimize downtime and keep drilling operations moving.
“Impossible delivery is possible with PEMAC,” says, Sumardi Bin Sidi, CEO.
With a team of about 50 staff and a lean structure, customers can reach senior leadership directly, allowing decisions to move quickly to the workforce. This has helped PEMAC deepen relationships with major oilfield companies. Halliburton is among its largest customers, with the relationship extending across entities in Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and other markets. The relationship began with one entity and expanded as its work generated further inquiries. It has experienced a similar pattern with Schlumberger, now SLB.
Moving forward, PEMAC’s focus remains on strengthening its capabilities, expanding its offering and carrying forward the experience that has built its reputation in the oilfield industry. In oilfield operations, having the right equipment is only the starting point. PEMAC’s ability to manufacture, repair and certify pressure-control equipment allows it to address customer needs at different stages of the equipment lifecycle, bringing these capabilities together under one roof.
