GridVest has been recognized by Energy Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top Turnkey Energy Storage Solution 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Energy Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Alex Shoer, Co-Founder and Managing Partner.
Alex Shoer, Co-Founder and Managing Partner“Rather than forcing projects into a single vendor ecosystem, we help assemble the right technology stack for each project,” says Alex Shoer, co-founder and managing partner.
GridVest operates as a battery energy storage system distributor and solutions provider supporting projects from sourcing and procurement through commissioning and deployment. Its model combines equipment sourcing, vendor coordination, financing support and technical guidance into a single process designed to reduce complexity across battery storage projects.
A key differentiator is the company’s brand-agnostic approach. GridVest works directly with multiple Tier 1 battery, inverter and energy management system providers in the United States and internationally. This allows developers and EPCs to select technology combinations that align with project requirements while still benefiting from coordinated procurement and implementation support.
The company also bundles batteries, inverters and energy management systems into one purchasing process, helping simplify supply chain coordination and project execution.
Addressing Energy Capacity and Procurement Challenges
Many organizations today face growing pressure from constrained utility infrastructure and rising energy expenses. In certain areas, utilities take several years to connect new power sources to the existing grid.
Energy storage systems can become an immediate solution to increase flexibility and cut back on peak loads during the wait period when major upgrades in utility capacity are expected. Meanwhile, recent changes related to the ITC tax credits and Foreign Entity of Concern regulations have increased procurement complexity.
GridVest assists its customers in considering various sourcing alternatives based on their needs and project goals. While some projects place emphasis on compliance issues, others need batteries to be acquired at a minimum cost.
Its turnkey model begins with project consultation and battery storage planning. Economic modeling can also be incorporated to help determine appropriate system sizing and configuration.
GridVest then coordinates sourcing, vendor management, manufacturing customization, shipping and battery-safe warehousing. The result is a consolidated contract structure designed to streamline project execution while maintaining flexibility in technology selection.
Combining Storage Deployment with Flexible Financing
Another component of GridVest’s approach involves equipment-based financing. Battery systems are treated as tangible assets, allowing customers to preserve working capital while moving projects forward.
A recent project with HiVolt Energy in West Texas demonstrated this model in practice. The customer needed reliable power for a new oil and drilling program where utility service was unavailable, and interconnection timelines were impractical.
GridVest supported the deployment of a 2.75 MWh battery energy storage system integrated with natural gas generators using Risen battery systems with CATL cells, EPC Power inverters and an energy management system. The batteries improved generator efficiency, reduced the need for additional generators and provided flexible power capacity.
The project moved from order to deployment in approximately three months. GridVest coordinated planning, procurement, financing and commissioning while delivering a fully integrated battery and inverter solution under a single contract structure.
GridVest sees distributed energy storage being driven increasingly by economics, resilience and customer demand. Rising electricity costs, growing interest in backup power capabilities and emerging opportunities like virtual power plants are expanding the role of battery storage beyond simple energy savings. It continues to support that transition through flexible procurement, financing and technology selection strategies.
